9th ANNUAL WAFSCM CONFERENCE

“Water – Friend or Foe”

November 2-4, 2011

Country Springs Hotel, Pewaukee, WI

The Wisconsin Association for Floodplain, Stormwater, and Coastal Management (WAFSCM) is holding its Ninth Annual Conference on November 2-4, 2011, at the Country Springs Hotel, Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Concurrent sessions, plenary sessions, networking events and a comprehensive exposition of products and services are sure to provide an enticing forum for exchange of information. This is the first time the conference has been held in the Milwaukee Metropolitan area since 2002 and we anticipate a large and dynamic group of professionals to share their experience in floodplain, stormwater, and coastal management issues and to address our target audience, which includes local government leaders, community administrators, planning agencies, public works departments, developers, consultants, environmental groups, and state and federal agencies.

Schedule of Events

The conference starts on Wednesday, November 2nd with a number of informative workshops including No Adverse Impact. There is also a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) Refresher for people who want to increase their knowledge of floodplain regulations or those planning to take the CFM exam also offered that day.

Wednesday evening a reception with appetizers and a cash bar will be held in the Exhibitor area. This will provide a great opportunity to learn about new products while networking with old and new found friends.

The main conference will be on Thursday, November 3rd and will include plenary speakers and concurrent technical sessions.

The conference concludes on Friday, November 4th with a morning tour of flood management and water course rehabilitation projects on Underwood Creek and the Menomonee River.

The final conference agenda will be available in early September 2011 and will be online at that time.
